Meyer's Parrots
Intelligent, patient, and silly are just a few words that can describe this popular species.
A hand-fed Meyer's considers itself an important member of it's family and will learn all the little rules, both obvious and subtle, that keeps it's household running smoothly. Many of Popeye's baby Meyer's have learned to talk and it isn't too surprising when one of our customer's call to say "He knows what he means!" One of our baby Meyer's declares "Out!" when he is ready to come out of his cage to play. He also plays peek-a-boo by ducking behind something and then popping up and announcing "peek-a-boo!" Another one of our babies has been reported to let his family know when he's ready for bed by walking towards his room and saying "Night, night!".

The Meyer's Parrot has a green belly and bright, turquoise rump. As they mature they generally get yellow markings on their heads, shoulders and thighs. One of their more striking features are their sharp, orange irises.
